The Warhol Welcomes Jessica Beck as Assistant Curator

Jessica Beck joins The Warhol from Washington D.C. where she worked at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. A summer intern in the museum’s education department all the way back in 2000, she has long standing interest in Warhol’s work and, in 2008, completed a Master’s Degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London with a dissertation on “Glenn Ligon Revisits Warhol: Presence and Absence in Painting, Archive and Video.”  More recently, Jessica developed the lecture series “Talking About Andy” at the Hirshhorn which included guest speakers Hal Foster and Kara Walker.

Jessica arrives at an exciting time for the museum and, among other projects, she joins the team working on the reinstallation of the collection galleries that will open to the public on The Warhol’s 20th Anniversary – May 18, 2014.
